The pizza was good, though a little chewy and a little pricey. They have a 5$ surcharge for gluten free on top of 10$ for a personal pizza. Still really fun to go out for pizza.

As soon as I got your note about Sammy’s, I called out to my husband and son (w/Celiac) that we were having Pizza for dinner.

Loved the fact that we could go to pizza restaurant and easily order gluten free pizza. As can be expected, the crust was just OK, but the sauce, toppings and cheese made it perfect for our family.

Sammy’s has several other menu items that are naturally GF, so we also enjoyed a big chop salad.

All in all, a good night for our family.

it’s pretty good! I went a few weeks ago after hearing about it. It is a little pricy but considering I hadn’t had real pizza in years, it was totally worth every penny. The crust is pretty thin, almost cracker like, but it was still pizza 🙂

I’ve eaten 3 times at different Sammy’s. Loved the pizza, but had reactions twice. The worst was at the Palm Desert location. They state on the menu that the pizza is not prepared in a gluten free area, but I informed the server that I have Celiac. I reported the problem to the corporate office and they replied within a couple of days. Now I’m waiting for further follow up to see what they suggest.

I’ve also eaten at Pizza Fusion in Hillcrest/San Diego. It was quite good and no problems.

I’m too Italian to try Sammy’s, but good to know it’s available. Yeast is out of the question for me, so please post any yeast-free, GF pizza places if you find any in and around San Diego???

I have eaten the gluten free pizza at Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza. I have purchased it at the El Camino Real location in Del Mar Califoria. The Pizza was good, but you order the standard toppings and you have to be sure they do not have gluten in them. Also, I thought charging an extra $5.00 for the gluten free personal size pizza was a bit pricy — I am not going to pay $18.00 for a personal size pizza very often. I did enjoy the pizza and other than the price would recommend it to others.

You can find their GF menu on their Facebook page. It’s under photos>menus and it’s the last two photos. All items say GF next to them.

PF Chang’s restaurant chain has an entire gluten free menu which is excellent, and a gluten free beer (Red Bridge). Also, BJ’s Restaurant/Micro-brewery chain has many gluten free items on their menu and also serves Red Bridge.

I couldn’t figure out any other way to tell you about Gluten Free locations in California….. so I’m putting it here.

Frosted Cupcake Bakery on 2nd Street in Long Beach carries one GF flavor which changes each month. I’ve had the Pumpkin Spice and the Red Velvet.
