Hey there! I'd love for us to stay in touch, so be sure to sign up for my FREE email notifications. I'd love to hear from you too, so don't forget to leave a comment below. Thx!

While we finish up touches for the exciting unveiling of more gluten-free dining options, we thought we’d pass on the good news that the now infamous TimeOutNY article on celiac disease is now archived. Against The Grain by Jennifer Romolini (a celiac chick), gives a simple breakdown of the disease along with an upbeat outlook on the lifestyle that eases villi damage. Ok, Kelly and I are sorta mentioned in there too, but it’s not the only reason we’re bringing it up again … the article gives celiac disease good exposure and for that we can always jump for joy!

    Dear Kim & Kelly,

I was diagnosed with Celiac in October 2003. Just the road to getting the diagnosis was a ride-and-a-half but hearing about the kind of diet I needed to follow almost sent me over the edge!!! Like everyone else cursed with this blasted disease, I got used to it. I hit the internet, bought books, etc, etc.

About two weeks ago, my friend gave me the article, “Against the Grain” which is how I learned about your website and all I can say is…..I LOVE IT!!!! Not only are the two of you hysterical, it’s just so nice to communicate with people who know EXACTLY what you’re going through.

Thank you for creating the website and for all the work you put into it. It is MUCH appreciated.

I have to thank the two of you for making this web site. It make’s my life so much easier. I was diagnosed with celiac last year when I was 19 and now I am 20. I thought my life would be over, that I could not go out to eat with my friends anymore or have a beer or anything like that. However, thanks to you guys you made my life so much easier by telling me about all the restaurants and the gluten free beer lol!
I just wanted to tell the two of you how much of a good job your doing and keep up the good work.

As everyone with celiac knows, it is inherited and can skip family members. My Mom and brother have it and have struggled with the difficult diet. Basically, after you eliminate gluten, the diet is healthy and basic. Thankyou for taking the time to share your “celiac-friendly” restaurants with us, as well as the great recipes!

A nice article, informative and upbeat. Wish some off-shoots of these gf restaurants could make it here to upstate New York.

Thanks for the positive attitude towards having this “disease.” Who knows? Maybe having this problem can have it’s benefits? Kind of like what being a contrarian investor. Going against the conventional thinking means we follow new and untrodden paths that might have better and more imaginative fare for us…
