Did you see this?! It has been the week of amazing super human athletes in Celiac Disease World!
David Milkes swam the Alcatraz Challenge to raise awareness about celiac disease for his sister, Sharon Milkes. That is so sweet!
Mountain Man ran the NYC marathon for me. I’ll have to test his love and ask, "…but would you swim to shore from Alcatraz?" Gotta keep him on his toes.

David, you are my hero! What a wonderful thing to do.. any thoughts how we can make this a national swim? Get everyone in the water all over the country on the same day, have state competitions…
By the way, why don’t you hop on a plane with your sister and come to NYC on Thursday, October 16 for the annual benefit for the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University Medical Center?
Keep up the good work!

Another feat of sports heroism in the name of Celiac Disease – my touch football league in Brooklyn (organized by Zogsports) plays for the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia and last winter we won the league championship which meant a contribution to the Center. Not as hard core as a marathon or swimming to Alcatraz but certainly fun. Go Nimble Minx!

I think that anyone that does something to help out with celiac disease studies or awareness is a hero! Go Nimble Minx!
