Just a quick question… Do you fine celiac chicks know of any gluten free restaurants in LA? I can’t seem to find any and I’ll be going there next weekend. If you or anyone knows of anything, please let me know. Thanks a bunch!
Hi….to whoever asked about gluten free in LA…at Mr. Chow’s, if you ask the management, there are 3 great dishes that they can make gluten free….and for a chinese restaurant, thats not bad! 🙂
Also- heads up to McDonalds eaters….they just came out to the media that there is in fact wheat products in their french fries…for years they have stated that their fries are gluten free.
Thanks a lot Chicks! A friend sent me your Daily News Article two days after I found out that I had Celiac Disease (last week). It is a relief that there are some places that cater to our needs. Can you find out if there are any restaurants on Staten Island that have gluten free meals. There isn’t much support on Staten Island but hopefully that will change!
Hey!
I’m from Staten Island and you should know about my favorite diet store – FIT Foods in Great Kills, the owner Diane is well versed in the Gluten Free diet and has an incredible variety of GF goodies. The store is near the corner of Amboy & Nelson Aves. Also the chef at Bayou has made me delicious GF variations of his regular menu items. Feel free to contact me.
Hi! Not sure where I should write this since I’ve already written it in another part of this blog but you should check out sliceperfect.com–gf crusts, soy and rice cheeses for the lactose intolerent, and the best part is that it tastes like pizza and is good for you! They’ve been featured on the food network, ABC news, the New York Times, Zagat etc. and they’re AMAZING! Definitely check it out!
