So, you may have seen all of the same news reports that I did a few weeks ago about Gwyneth Paltrow's seven day gluten-free diet cleanse. I found it interesting that most reporters (if you can really call them that) painted her as an ascetic, as if it was a bad or weird thing to try to take care of yourself. It might be extreme if it was her regular daily diet, but this is just a seven day diet that is doctor recommended. I was just happy to see the term "gluten-free" attached to a person of influence and mentioned in the media numerous times.
Anyhoo…in case you were intrigued by this diet in any way, I thought I'd let you know that Kim found the actual recipes on Gwyneth's website (www.GOOP.com) and is doing the cleanse right now. Today is day 5 with two more days to go. I'm sure any encouragement would be greatly appreciated. She briefly told me today that she would love to write about it with hindsight and share what it has taught her about food and how emotional most attachment to food is.
I'm so excited to hear all about it. Oh, and if you do choose to do this, be sure not to use barley miso.

will you keep us up on how it’s going?
“seven day gluten-free diet cleanse” , thanks for information
I am going to give this a try! I always do a cleanse in February, as everyone of us has a birthday in March – and after the holidays I feel my body needs one. Thank you for the information – looking forward to hearing how it is going!
Do you know of any celebs that have celiac?
Good Luck with the cleanse, Kim.
The younger woman on The View is apparently a Celiac. Elizabeth.

I checked out Gwyneth’s cleanse and it looks very good. I have started working with a friend of mine who has a site for gallbladder attacks and she says that cucumbers and beets as well as radishes are really great for the gallbladder. I was pleased to see Gwyneth has a few recipes that feature cucumbers and beets. I can see that they would be great for anyone who wants to do a cleanse as well as for people with gallbladder issues.
Thanks for the link!

Have you heard of a gluten free cleanse called Kaeng Raeng? I think she might have been an inspiration for it…
