WHY IS ASIAN BOX A GLUTEN FREE RESTAURANT?

Some of you have wondered if Asian Box really understands what it means to be gluten-free and why they are a completely gluten-free restaurant. Here is the answer I received from their PR person:

Actually – one of the investors has a son who is gluten free. They were unable to find out what was wrong with him for a very long time, and finally once he was diagnosed, they weren’t able to find a safe place to dine as a whole family. So they decided to open Asian Box, where they felt comfortable dining as a whole family and didn’t have to worry about cross-contamination. Yes, it is fairly easy to be gluten-free as an Asian restaurant, if you use GF sauces, rice, rice noodles, no flour in the marinades, etc. They call it a “no sacrifices kitchen”, meaning they don’t sacrifice anything to be gluten-free, the food is just naturally gluten-free.
