I was going through old photos the other day and I found this. (photo coming soon) I was 22 and had just finished riding 73 miles from Tigard to Lincoln City in Oregon. Oh to be 22 again! Let's just say I suddenly realized that gravity and my desk job have not exactly been good friends over the years. Yikes!
What's a chick to do?! Well, I decided to ride the NYC Century Bike Tour coming up this September 13th.
For those of you that don't know, a century is a 100 mile ride. [slamming 2nd shot of tequila now to calm nerves]
I'm trying to think of an alternative title for this ride. Something a bit more personal, like the Back To The Future Ride, The Anti-Cellulite Ride, or The Stop Cellulite Now Ride. Which one do you like? Do you have any ideas?
After I got over my vanity, I realized that I could turn this into a fundraiser for a celiac charity. Yeah! That's what I would do!! And of course the most fitting charity for this event would be the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University right in NYC!
So, here's the deal. [switching to PBS telethon voice] In support of the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University, please make a donation to my ride. I'll be encouraged by it, and you'll be helping to fund some of the leading research on celiac disease, which is needed in order for us all to know better how to detect, manage, and possibly prevent serious damage from it. Oh, and the more we know, the more it will become "real" to the general public. [puppy dog eyes]
If you've ever enjoyed this site, whether it was informative, encouraging, or just made you laugh due to my poor grammar skilz, please consider making a donation. No amount is too small. Really. I figure if all of my readers just donate one dollar, then at least several thousand dollars will be raised.

Kelly,
Where have you been? I miss you!! Of course, I will support your ride! Better you than me. Actually, I would love to organize a fundraiser on the water, calling all rowers on Long Island Sound. I understand the good Dr.Green did crew at university!
Carlyn is almost done perfecting her gluten free cookie recipe. She has had some interesting offers to market it.. we have to talk.
On the road until September, see you then.
And, not to worry, we will be waiting for you at the finish line, GF treats in hand.

Deb!!!
I miss you too! Had to take a little break this summer. Thank you for your support!
I think a rowing event would be super fun. I’ve always wanted to do that. Let’s do it!
Definitely keep me posted on Carlyn’s cookies!
Have fun.
Hugs,
Kel
