Our favorite magazine about the gluten-free lifestyle has published a little article about our blog in their current issue. Kelly and I met Anne Whelan, GF Living’s editor, at last year’s Columbia University Patient Education Day (see December 1st archive) and we immediately connected with her great attitude about the lifestyle and loved the design and informative content of her publication. So, we subscribed, stayed in touch, and bumped into Amy Ratner, GF Living associate editor, at the CSA Metro Regional Conference & Dinner in Virginia this past March, where we were speakers. (see April 20th archive) After a little interview and a couple of snap shots, your humble chicks made it to print in GF Living’s Volume 9, No. 1 issue.
So … if you want to stay educated and informed about Celiac Disease and the diet, we would advise that you check out Gluten Free Living. It’s the only publication just for us! With names such as Bette Hagman, Peter Green MD and John Zone MD among its large pool of respectable contributors and advisors it is a must read. Send an email requesting subscription information to:

Hello Girls,
I love your website – you are an inspiration. When I am down and all I want to eat is a fresh, crunchy French baguette, I read your newsletters and that makes me feel better then any French, Italian or German “not gluten free” treat.
Thank you for being there for us.
If you ever come to Vancouver or Vancouver Island please come and visit me on Salt Spring Island. It is beautiful and I am trying to establish a gluten free bakery: The Wheatless Granary.
I started six weeks ago, baking from at home, coming up with the right packaging, etc. etc.
But, I am having fun and already “three regular” customers (wow!!!) and hopefully I can quit my job in the near futur and just focus on baking and slowly moving into a new location.
Please, send me all the “gluten free Godesses”.
Again, I love your website – I am always excited when I receive your latest update.
Take care
Susanne
To Vancouver … Hi ! I frequently on an island off of Vancouver, although I live in the Philadelphia Pa. area. I go to what is called “The Sunshine Coast” (ferry ) & then drive , or take the bus to “Pender Harbour” . Do you know it? Every time I am in the area , I`m impressed by the amount of GF foods that are availaible AND marked GF.
My e-mail is arl.zvt@verizon.net
In about 1976, I founded “THE GREATER PHILADELPHIA CS GROUP”. I worked full time & had 2 small kids . It just got too much for me, so one of the group , Phyllis Brogden , took it over. The GF food available then was HORRIBLE & very little choice. GOOD LUCK , with your bakery. Fondly, Arlene
Hello Arlene..do you know of any restaurants in the Philly area that have accommodated persons with Celiac disease? Specifically, folks who are extremely sensitive and have very strong reactions to even the smallest amounts from cross-contamination. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely, Suzanne
