View Where to drink gluten-free in NYC in a larger map
Please welcome guest blogger Kristin, a freelance writer and editor who lives in Brooklyn. I'm sure many readers will appreciate her self-sacrificing investment of time and painstaking research for this project. Thank you, Kristin!
I miss beer. Of all the things I've had to give up since discovering my gluten intolerance last year, it's what I miss the most. While I was relieved that there were quality gluten-free beers available that I could keep at home, it was hard to accept that there were many bars I would never frequent again, or be faced with ordering bad wine, or worse cocktails and paying extra for the privilege.
Also, let's face it, it's not always easy to pace yourself when your friends are nursing pints and you're sticking to vodka drinks. In defiance, I started crafting a personal list of bars and pubs I'd always loved that also carried cider, with a special place in my heart for those with draft cider.
